Our Story
The Training Center was founded in 1982 by John Moscatiello as a practical education solution for boiler operators seeking careers in plant operation and maintenance. With a masters degree in education, John dreamed to use his experience as a plant operator and create a school that would provide real-world training and help people better their careers.
John's true passion was people. Inspiring people to actually want to go to work, become better professionals, find even better jobs, and improve the lives of their families. His philosophy was to create lasting relationships with every single student, providing help for them even after they finished the program. This philosophy carried on, as John's two sons, Patrick and Dan Moscatiello led the organization with the same passion and principles. John passed away on May 8, 2017 after a 3-year battle with cancer and we lost Patrick on June 5, 2022. Their spirit, however, will forever be the foundation of our school and what we stand for.

Our Approach
It is our mission to establish a lasting relationship with every student who attends our school, at any level. We believe that love (or the lack of it) is at the root of all learning. We love our students and this is the foundation of our approach, helping them in any way possible. That means that 10 years after taking a program, a student can pick up the phone and call us for help, advice, or anything we could possibly offer.
As far as our methods to deliver our training, there is no "death-by-powerpoint" here. Our programs are designed carefully to meet the needs of the adult learner, with an understanding of how adults learn. So rather than force-feeding lines of bullet points, our students learn through short, concise, visual lessons. Examples that can be applied in our everyday lives. Simplified fundamental lessons through discussion and stories of practical experience, students retain information effectively. Courses are directed by a team of professional instructors, whose industry experience combines over 60 years, our programs are offered in a broad range of areas within plant operations.
Our Promise
The Training Center is the only school of its kind that guarantees your education. If you enroll in one of our programs, attend all classes, and complete any assigned work, we guarantee your education. If you fail the exam, you may return to the program at no cost (for two years) until you pass the state exam.
Our founder, John Moscatiello, was a Master Educator who understood the importance of teaching people the information they needed to improve their lives in a way that was easy to remember. He created The Training Center in 1982.
Our brother and friend, Patrick Moscatiello, was an inspiration to us all. Learning directly from his father, Patrick's fundamental approach to training allowed a broad range of students to be able to retain the knowledge presented.
Our Directors
Dan Moscatiello and Corey Meeks operate The Training Center under the same basic philosophy: building positive, lasting relationships with every student, client, and associate they meet.

Dan Moscatiello has worked in the industry for 19 years and before joining The Training Center in a full-time capacity, he was Plant Manager of the Lakewood Cogeneration Plant in Lakewood, NJ. He is experienced with steam, hot water, and simple and combined-cycle power plants. His leadership experience and understanding of plant culture help students become better operators.

Corey Meeks has worked at The Training Center since 2018. Starting as a student through The Externship Program, he is now The Training Center’s Program Director. His experience includes Facilities Management as well as owning and operating his own business. Corey is a proud graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, where he served as a commissioned officer for more than 10 years.
Our Headquarters
The Training Center's company headquarters is located in Wrightstown, NJ. Centralized between all of our NJ training locations, this facility will serve as our main office, while also hosting a broad range of specialty seminars in the future.
