The ramifications of proposed BILL A3952.

by John Moscatiello on 05/16/11

Dear students and fellow operators:

As you may have heard, NJ Assemblyman John J. Burzichelli has introduced Bill No. 3952. Essentially, this bill would eliminate the need of a low pressure boiler license.

Hopefully you can understand what this will mean for you, the stationary engineer. No longer will you be recognized for your skill and training as an operator. Now your job could be occupied by just anyone. I mean anyone. Think about how this might impact your resume, your job security, your livelihood, and the safety of every boiler room in the state. Wages will most certainly fall as fast as accidents will rise.

I have been in this industry for 40 years and have seen and heard about countless accidents and safety disasters, almost all of them because of operator error. This is the whole idea of a license. A license showing you have been trained and have the necessary experience with this equipment.

I'm hoping you can understand these ramifications. I'm hoping you will stand up for the protection of your job, stand up for the skills you have acquired over your years of employment, and stand up to protect the safety and well being of others who may be harmed by the unsafe operation of boilers!

All you have to do is contact your assemblyman and tell them to vote NO on Bill A3952.

Sincerely,

John Moscatiello

Kewanee Boilers

by John Moscatiello on 04/01/11

What Happened to Kewanee Boiler?

Kewanee began manufacturing boilers in 1868.  Over the next 133 years, until production ceased in 2002, tens of thousands of Kewanee boilers were sold to residential, commercial, and industrial customers in the US and abroad.

Kewanee was part of various US manufacturing corporations over its life, the latest being Burnham Corporation, which purchased Kewanee in 1991.  In 2001, Burnham management decided to cease production and to withdraw the Kewanee boiler from the marketplace, primarily due to the steadily declining numbers of industrial firetube boilers being built and sold in the US.

New ways to connect with our students.

by John Moscatiello on 05/10/10

We are living in a time where information travels faster than ever before. News is first heard through Twitter or Facebook faster than the largest media outlets in the world.. people want their information shorter, faster, and right on their cellular phones.

In 2010, The Training Center is dedicated to providing it's students and clients with more information than ever before. And instantly.

For example, if you click "Like" on our Facebook page, you will see any of our important student updates right on your personal Facebook feed. While the information may have been posted on our main website, you may not see until it becomes irrelevant. There will also be constant contributions, from our instructors, in the Discussion section of the Facebook page. Students can interact and get additional support before taking state exams.

These new methods of sharing information have us truly excited. If you want the most out of your training experience with us, I encourage you to get on board:
